Located in the Seymour Osman Community Center, the Dover Youth Safe Haven
is open from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday. It is open from 9
a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday. On weekends it is open for special programs.
The program has recently expanded to a second site at Woodman Elementary
School and has had a major expansion and upgrade of the physical facility
at the main site. This expansion has provided the opportunity for a greater
breakout of activities.
A large and diverse group of paid civilian staff, police officers, National
Guardsmen, college interns, AmeriCorp/Vista staff, and volunteers are
available to work with the youth. In addition to homework assistance,
the YSH offers numerous programs focused on youth development, including
individual development, the arts, sports, socialization and academic enrichment.
